Studio Instructor, Communication and Graphic Design Program
Jaime Sandoval came to the United States at age 15 and graduated in the top 5% of his class in Montclair High School, the first non-U.S. born student to graduate with honors. He graduated from the University of Illinois with undergraduate degrees in Graphic Design and Industrial Design.
Though he had two job offers at local design firms, his ambition motivated him to move to Milan, Italy, to work for Design Room, a design firm with clients such as Giorgio Armani, Disneyland, Motorola, Adidas, Lindt, Amro Bank, Ceruti, Alessandro dell’Aqua, and La Rinascente, among others. A year later, he felt ready to pursue a master’s degree at the oldest and most-prestigious design school of Italy, Scuola Politecnica di Design, also in Milan. He earned his master’s degree there in Web Design.
After graduation, Jaime returned to the U.S. to start a freelance business with his classmate, Riccardo Capuzzo. After working in the Web design industry, he began working in the virtual field as an Art Director for a local company under Second Life. In 2009, he was hired by Harrington College of Design, where he teaches the Logos and Corporate Identity, Package Design and Graduate Studio Design classes.
