Perrin Stamatis is a designer, educator, musician, and writer. He began his lifelong interest in design as a child while working at his family’s printing company. As founder and principal of Scratchboard Designs, his professional career spans over 20 years of print, motion-based, and interactive design for a wide variety of clients (including Miller Welding, ZweigWhite Publishing, Nokia/Navteq, UIC and Music Direct).

Perrin completed his MFA in Graphic Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago; and, earned three certificates for continuing studies at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst (HGK) Basel, Switzerland.

Since 2005, Perrin has been teaching design courses at the International Academy of Design, University of Illinois at Chicago, Westwood College (as the program chair for Graphic Design, Game Design and Animation) DePaul University, School of the Art Institute of Chicago: Continuing Studies and The Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago (where he recently served as the Academic Director for Graphic Design, Advertising, Digital Photography and Web Design).

His personal work involves print, interactive, animation, sound and physical computing installation pieces.
