Studio Instructor, Digital Photography Program
Tim Arroyo graduated from Columbia College in 1998 with an undeclared Bachelor of Arts degree. He also received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Graphic Arts from Robert Morris College in 1994.
Tim worked professionally for four years as the in-house senior designer for Harris Bank in the Desktop sign Services department. He left the world of corporate graphics to begin teaching full-time for the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago in the Visual Communications department. He specialized in digital imaging and illustration during his tenure at IADT.
A lifetime resident of Chicago, Tim brings more than 10 years of teaching experience to his current position teaching digital imaging, commercial photo-retouching, illustration and printing as a full-time faculty member in the digital photography department of Harrington College of Design.
Tim is a long-standing member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and has earned two Photoshop Guru nominations. He also manages the official Chicago Photoshop User Group, manages the Chicago Digital Imagers Group on Meetup, and serves as the faculty advisor for Harrington’s chapter of the Student Photographic Society as well as The Focus Group.
Aside from teaching, Tim is also a digital artist using the computer and photography as his medium of choice. His work has been shown in numerous galleries in Chicago and in 2005 at the Las Cruces Museum of Fine Art, Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is also pursuing an MA in Art from Governors State University.
