All Harrington students and alumni are invited to participate in the exciting Harrington College of Design and Oscar Isberian Rug competition! You could have your very own design hand-woven into a Tibetan rug and auctioned off for charity. See below for all the details!
- Design a 4’ x 6’ rug (two entries are allowed per person).
- Print your design onto an 8”x12” or 11”x 17” cardboard
- On the back of your printed design, define the colors with the Pantone Color system. (You can find Pantone Color references in the library.)
- Deliver your board to Peter Klick at Harrington in room 308
The deadline for all designs is April 9.
An exhibition and juried event will be held at the Harrington College of Design Spring Senior Show. The seven winning designs chosen by the jury will be produced by Oscar Isberian and auctioned off for a charity event later in the year (you'll never guess where one of last year's winners ended up!). All profits from the auction above the production cost will be yours!
And you never know where your design may end up – a rug from a past competition is now laying in the office of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office! See examples of some designs from past competitions here.
