SLK Salon Britany Scurry

We were excited to learn about a project completed by recent Harrington College of Design Interior Design alumna Britany Scurry in Evanston, Illinois!  Britany was chosen by a dynamic businesswoman, Sandy Lewis Kadiri, to design a salon in an area filled with strong competition.

Brtiany’s studio design was based on the salon owner’s passion for making people feel beautiful as well as well as her desire to create a feeling of inclusion and safety for a modern, multi-cultural woman. The new salon, located on the 1900 block of Maple Avenue, features striking turquoise walls, floral print couches and state-of-the-art hair care amenities and is the culmination of Sandy Kadiri’s long-time dream to own a salon.

You can read more about Britany’s project in the Daily Northwestern. In the area and need a haircut? Stop by to admire Britany’s project  - the salon is now open!

Keep reading tomorrow when I share an exclusive interview I had with Britany to learn more about the project and her love for interior design!

As always, we love hearing from our alumni – please send us your story any time at hinfo@harrington.edu!

The ambiance at Studio SLK surpasses any typical hair salon. Britany Scurry has done a phenomenal job at combining the client's vision with her creative design skills. For this to be her first project, I am impressed and proud of the recent Harrington graduate. Kudos Britany!!!
